On the 4th of December, our TY Boys Soccer Team faced off against Creagh College in the T.Y. Cup. This was the first match of the cup and the first match for new manager Andrew Wall along with co-manager Oisin O’Sullivan.
After an effective warm-up and empowering speech from captain Seán McLaughlin the home match kicked off. The game was back and forth with close chances for both teams but neither team scored a goal. The first half ended 0-0 but after an inspiring half time speech from manager Andrew Wall the boys were ready to win.
Both teams stepped it up for the second half with promising chances but coming into the final minutes it was looking like the game was going to end 0-0. In the final minute Fionn Ryan played a perfect pass down the line to Luca Kelly who drilled it low into the box to James Devlin who put it away. This was the last kick of the game and it ended a great win for St. Davids with a scoreline of 1-0.
Well done to the team and their management for giving the spectators a match that definitly kept them on the edge of their seats.
