On Monday the 29th of September, our under 19s Girls' basketball team and their coach, Ms. Courtney, travelled with the under 16 team, to play a match against Temple Carrig. They started off with a strong warmup and some drills led by Ms. Courtney. They all entered the court with confidence and their heads up high. The starting 5 made a great start by getting the ball with great control during the early stages of the match. At the start of the match we saw some great skill and passion shown through their amazing runs and great shots, but Temple Carrig was a strong team and were able to get a few points at the start of the match.
The girls kept their heads high as they entered the last two quarters of the match. Unfortunately, Temple Carrig put up a really hard fight in the last part which made it really difficult for St. Davids. During this game the girls showed lots of brilliant skill and dedication towards this sport and team and never gave up trying. Throughout the end of the match Temple Carrig got in the lead by a good few points which led to an unfortunate loss for our David’s team. The U19s girls put up a good fight and despite the scoreline, played an excellent game.
