On the 24th of March the YSI squad and their team leader, Ms. Foynes travelled to Kilkenny to present their projects after working hard for the past year.

There was a wide range of groups that showcased their projects to the YSI foundation, the groups consisted of:

Her Turn to Play’- A group of girls highlighting and spreading awareness about women in sport.

‘Craft it Forward’- A group of boys using scrap wood to create wooden cars and toys for less fortunate children in Ireland.

Just For You’- A group that comes together and offers support for siblings that have additional needs, a place for them to relax.

The groups have been working hard all year and have brought their ideas to life, showcasing their dedication to solving the problem they feel strongly about.

The presentations started at one and after a quick stop to fuel up for the big day the group was ready to show off their talent to all. 'Just For You' was the first group to take to the stage and they displayed their project by acting out a drama by Martha Woodley and Mae Browner. Katie Heffernan then explained to the audience all about their project and the group performed phenomenally. Well done girls!

The next group to perform was the group ‘Craft it Forward’, consisting of Clark Kelly, Darragh Murray, Max Zaramensky, Harry Starken, Ciaran O’Lideadha and Conor Byrne. They introduced their initiative, showed one of the wooden cars they created and talked about their story. Great job guys!

To finish out the day ‘Her Turn to Play’ presented and they certainly ended the day with a bang. Each girl explained different aspects of their project and displayed illustrations from the book they’re creating

‘Game Changers: Wicklow Women in the Game’. Excellent work girls!

The day was a huge success, with all the groups presenting to the best of their ability and supporting every group that presented. We also want to extend our thanks to Ms. Foynes, who has dedicated so much of her time and effort to bring our ideas to life. We wouldn't be able to do this without her. We can't wait to see what the future has in store for all of our projects and we wish each group the best of luck!
