First Year Boys Rugby vs Creagh College

On Tuesday the 17th of December our first year rugby lads took on Creagh College in an away fixture. The lads arrived at 12:00 for their warm up. They were guided by our TY coaches, Cillian Brady, Patrick O’Boyle and Max Waddigton. With some motivating words from their coach, Mr. Davies, the lads were ready for the 12:30 kick off.

From the first whistle it was a tough game, with David's unable to break through Creagh College’s line of defence. The lads were down 21-0 with five minutes to go then Andrew McCarron scored the first try for David's with Chris O’brien making his conversion. Going into halftime the lads were down  21-7.

After some honest words from Mr. Davies the lads wanted to prove that they had some fight in them. With strong runs by Eli Harte the lads were able to get it to a 9 point difference at one stage of the game. The lads fought until the end of the match however Creagh College got the best of them. Standout performances weere from Eli Harte, Rhisper Barnard and Gethin Davies. 

While we know the lad might be disappointed with this loss, they should also be proud of their performance and teamwork. A big thanks to their dedicated coach, Mr. Davies!
