Junior Girls Gaa Team Victory Over Educate Together Wicklow

On Thursday the 28th of September, St David's Junior Girls took on Educate Together, Wicklow in Éire Óg Greystones in the first game of the Leinster Cup competition.

The match started at 12:30 and the David’s Girls, captained by Lucy O’Leary, were slow to start, with a few wides coming in the first five minutes. The first score came from Ella Andrews with a lovely point, and after that, the scores began to pour in.

Inside the first half, scores came from the following:

• Ella Andrews (2-2)

• Niamh O’Neill (0-1)

• Niamh Kelly (1-1)

• Caoimhe Davis (1-2)

• Aoife Fox (0-1)

The first 30 minutes ended St David's 4-6 to Educate Together 0-1.

The second half began, and the David's girls continued to dominate the game, even after multiple substitutions were made. With scores in the second half coming from:

• Chloe Eyre (2-2)

• Hazel Prendergast (3-3)

• Lenna Gleeson (0-1)

• Emma Wylie (0-1)

The game finished with the David’s team scoring an incredible 9-15 to Educate Together Wicklow 1-2. An outstanding performance from the girls and a great start to the season.
