TY Trip to Go Quest

On Thursday and Friday the 16th and 17th of January our TY students embarked on an exciting trip to

Go Quest - “a fully interactive, live challenge experience that blends the best elements of adventure games and team activities.”  The TY students had been really anticipating this trip and it served as the perfect opportunity to relax and spend time with their friends before their exams on the following Monday and Tuesday.

They hopped on the bus bright and early and took the short spin up to Ballyogan, Carrickmines. They arrived promptly at Go Quest just before 10 o'clock.  The students were divided into groups of four and five and came up with a team name. After a short explanation about how to play the games and a health and safety briefing, the TYs were ready to start. Everyone had an hour and a half to enter all the activity rooms and try to gain the most amount of points. The rooms are designed to test the physical, mental and problem solving skills of the students. It was also a competition, whichever team got the most points won, this undeniably added tension and fun to the games.

After their time was up, each group was given an analysis of their performance in each room. On Friday, unfortunately, the group of teachers, (Ms Matthews, Mr Dowling and Mr Patterson) won!

Then, the students had just under two hours in the Carrickmines Retail Park. The students had built up an appetite after their hard thinking so it was no surprise when McDonald’s was packed with lots of blue and black sports uniforms!

At 2:15pm everyone gathered together and piled on the bus home. They were exhausted but everyone had an amazing day out! A huge thank you to our amazing TY Coordinator, Ms. Courtney and all the teachers that accompanied us!
